Health And Physical Education (3310)

Grade Level:  9th and up

Prerequisite:  None

Description: Health and physical education offers the student experiences in individual recreational lifetime activities such golf, tennis, badminton and bowling.  There are additional units for team competition in volleyball, basketball, baseball, and floor hockey.  The student is evaluated on participation, individual effort and improvement. Health will be approached by giving the student current facts enabling wise decisions on choices of diet, exercise, rest, drugs and relationships.

Varsity Sports (3321)

Grade Level:  9th and up

Prerequisite:  None

Description: Physical education classes are open to any student who wishes to participate in varsity sports.  Each class is designed to provide a student the basic fundamental skills for each sport, the knowledge of the rules, knowledge of proper health and hygiene and the physical conditioning to be successful in the sport.  Students may enroll in sports for the entire year or for one semester, and grades are on a pass/fail basis.  A complete list of physical education-varsity sports is listed below:

Driver Education (2710)

Grade Level:  9th and up

Prerequisite:  None

Description: The course is designed to expose students to the basic rules and regulations of the streets and highways of Oklahoma.  Students gain experience in driving a car and obtain a learner's permit.  A learner's permit may be issued to high school students who are at least 15 1/2 years of age and who are currently enrolled and receiving instruction in or have satisfactorily completed an approved driver education course. Applicants must have a birth certificate.

Yearbook (4240)

Grade Level:  10th and up

Prerequisite:  Student must have Typing/Intro to Computers and teacher approval.

Description: The purpose of the course is to publish the high school yearbook, THE CHIEFTAIN. Students enrolled in this class will be responsible for selling sponsor ads, drawing layouts, taking pictures, typing copy and proofing pages.
